Ben Dombey Glass

Artist Statement

We are shaped by our experiences. All events that we encounter add new layers to our lives. These layers define us. And yet we are not always fully aware of them. We often overlook the spaces in between. My glass sculptures represent the spectrum of human experience. I expose the layers. I bring the inside to the outside world – some layers are thick and strong, some weak and small, some crazy and curvaceous. Creating each individual piece of glass was an important experience in my life. Both my ego and core are represented in the glass and are on display for all to witness. I am shaped by glass.
